EPS File Cross-Platform Compatibility?

The EPS (Encapsulated Post Script) file created by Scorpion BarCode is designed for use with any EPS compatible application, whether running on an macOS computer or another platform.

The files created by Scorpion BarCode software can be used on other platforms and has been successfully tested on certain hardware configurations although you should check the output on your intended platform for suitability before committing the file to press.

If you are experiencing degraded output, it is possible that the EPS file is not being correctly transferred. If problems persist, it is safest to use the Clipboard to paste your Barcode image directly into a cross-platform DTP layout software where possible and then transfer the final output file of that DTP layout software to your other hardware platform.

Alternatively, you can produce the PDF version of the Barcode image and import the BarCode image into your preferred DTP layout software.

How Do You Alter Barcode Magnification?

Magnification can be adjusted at the time of creating the Barcode image from within Scorpion BarCode. Select the "Size" tab to see editing options that can be used to alter the appearance of the Barcode image. Options include Magnification to scale the image and Trim Height to alter the Barcode height.

Alternatively, since Scorpion BarCode creates both vector PDF images as well as vector EPS files, you can use the PDF file or the Clipboard to pass the Barcode image in the PDF format to your preferred graphics image editing application for further editing. Alternatively, you can save the Barcode image as an EPS file and edit the image in an EPS editing application.

The vector editable format enables you to edit and scale the output on a resolution-independent basis. By grouping the various elements you can scale the Barcode image depending on the graphics software being used and the choices it can offer.

However, you should take care not to violate the dimension tolerances specified for the Barcode symbology or you could invalidate the Barcode image. The standard size built by Scorpion BarCode at normal (100%) size is the ideal size.
